YouTube Music Spotlight: Orla Gartland

If I could choose only one YouTube musician who I’d desperately want to make a full-length album, it would – hands down – have to be the young lady performing under the username MusicMaaad. Orla Gartland is absolutely amazing! I fell in love with her (in a totally not creepy kind of way) the very first minute I saw one of her videos. She has a beautifully powerful set of pipes (probably one of the best young voices on YouTube) and guitar skills that would put a lot of “guitarists” to shame.  Hearing her perform, it is hard to believe that she’s only been playing the guitar and singing for about four years. What’s even harder to believe is that this Dubliner is only 17 years old.

Orla began posting videos on YouTube in 2009, with hopes of getting feedback and comments on her singing, and was met with outstanding support and love from the YouTube community. Her repertoire ranges from awesome guitar and ukulele covers to slick acoustic medleys to stunning and insanely catchy originals. This young singer-songwriter has talent seeping out of her pores and has a bright future ahead. But then again, you don’t have to take my word for it. Check her out for yourselves.
