The wait is finally over for fans of the 4-time Emmy Award winner for Outstanding Drama Series.
Mad Men returns on AMC for its fifth season after taking a year and a half hiatus. The fourth season’s finale aired on October 17, 2010 and the fifth season is set to premiere on March 25, 2012, Sunday.
The delay was caused by expiring contracts between creators of the show and the cable network AMC. Negotiations took quite some time; therefore, the fifth season did not enter its production stage until last year. But all is well as the Emmy-hogger was renewed for three more seasons.
For fans who are dying to find out about what’s to come, early viewers of the premiere said that the episode sets a nice teaser and tone for the remainder of the season. The show set in the 60s is also reported to include the rise of civil rights movements in future episodes.
The 2-hour season premiere airs on AMC on Sunday, 9/8c.
