10 Ways to Celebrate Your Birthday

Your birthday only happens once a year (unless you’re a leap year baby), and some people have celebrated their birthdays the same way year in and year out. Dinner with friends or throw a house party or maybe hit up a strip club. Here are a few things you could do to enjoy your birthday differently this year:

1. Skip school or work

Having to be bounded by responsibilities is the last thing you want on your special day. Unless you have a big presentation or a huge exam, take the day off and spend at least one day of the year the way you want to.

Don't be fooled by the smiles. Spending your birthday at work SUCKS!

2. Gamble

Gambling is a thrilling experience which is why many people get addicted to it. Why not have some fun and enjoy the thrill yourself? Just make sure you gamble responsibly and set yourself a limit though (I know what i said about being bounded by responsibilities!)

You could make it rain if you win big…IF.

3. Get yourself a nice gift

It’s really just an excuse to get yourself something nice without being judged. You’ll be pretty damn happy though, that’s for sure.

So I heard the new iPad just came out…

4. Eat… a lot

I know there are already enough holidays and occasions in one year that gives you permission to feast like a king. So really, what is one more day of abandoning your diet and stuffing your face with food?

Nothing wrong with stuffing your face on your birthday.

5. Stay up for 24 hours

This is what I call birthday maximization. Enjoy every second of your birthday unless of course, you can’t handle an entire day of being awake.

Just load up on energy drinks if you can't stay up.

6. Write a letter to your future self

The only bad thing about birthdays is you are reminded that you are another year older. Make yourself feel better by writing a letter to future you and tell him how awesome and young you are today.

"Stay awesome…and keep the hairdo!"

7. Try something new and adventurous

Is gambling not thrilling enough for you? Turn it up a notch and try something new and adventurous. Go skydiving or bungee jumping if you never have or try that crazy delicacy you saw on the Food Channel. Just make sure you don’t get food poisoning.

You better have big balls of steel if you want to do this.

8. Make a bucket list

Like I said in #7, you are another year older and as depressing as it sounds, your remaining years aren’t increasing. Your birthday may be the perfect day to realize this so make a list of the things you want to accomplish before you die. Just remember to not include things that could most likely get you killed.

Fighting a bear….probably shouldn't be on it.

9. Film yourself for the entire day

This birthday could be one of the best ones so why not document the entire thing and keep it for later years? So when you feel down in the future you could always remind yourself of that one awesome day. You can even show it to your future kids and grandkids (as long as you keep it PG).

Try not scripting it…

10. But don’t film this…unless it’s on your bucket list.
