All you fashion-forward girls know what I mean when I say that our daily life “runway” isn’t really compatible with the gorgeous fashion worn by the models on the runway. When you go out to the streets with outfits taken straight off the runway, you’re bound to get a few unwanted stares and whispers here and there. And if you’re like me, you will probably be discouraged and will vow to never be fashionable again.
Don’t lose hope though because there are still ways to be fashionable this fall without receiving unwanted attention. I’ve taken the liberty to list some items from the Fall ’11 fashion trend that could be utilized in daily life, whether you’re going to work, school, or just hanging out with your friends — off the runway.
Red is the new black for this Fall season. Use this hot colour of the season to pop colours into your outfit. Pair a red sweater with your favourite pair of jeans or add the finishing touch to your look by putting on some sexy red lips. Red, the epitome of sexiness, will spice up your outfit and give you enough accent to make you stand out from the crowd.

Sharing the closet with the boys
The fashion borrowed from the boys is always so flattering on girls! The menswear trend continues but with a more suited and formal spin. If you have any business meeting or a semi-formal events to attend, look for tuxedo-inspired items. Well tailored pants and shirt will go a long way.

Obsessed with Plaids
This is probably one of the easier item you can utilize for the Fall season. Plaids should be a staple item in your closet as they are very easy to match and can be worn in many ways. This fall, step away from the usual plaid shirts by wearing plaid on coats, trousers, dresses, and accessories.

Replacing the Summer’s colour blocking trend, crazy prints are making its way into your closet for the Fall season. Mix prints with your staples to give your outfit an edgy look. If bold print isn’t your cup of tea, try putting the loud prints to your accessories such as a scarf or shoes.
