In stead of donating money, what else can we do to reduce poverty?

Same story happens everyday, in every city: large numbers of food are wasted and expired, on the shelf, at home or on the table; on the other side, homeless people are sleeping beside the street, suffering from the hunger and thirst.
How to balance this huge issue in local, national, and international level?

Here comes up the Food Bank!
As the voice for the hungry, the food bank shows up.

What is food bank?
As non-profit organization, Food bank feeds the hungry by distributing donated food to a wide variety of agencies. 44 years ago, the world’s first food bank appeared in Arizona, US. This idea is so great that food banking has spread around the world. In Canada, the first national food bank conference held in Edmonton in 1986. Now, the Food Banks Canada is working on the short-term and long-term solutions for the nearly 870,000 Canadians, who are assisted by a food bank every month.
